Description: -Confident and proficient enough to work alone.
-Good phlebotomy skills.
-Use techniques specified in procedure manuals for analysis of patient specimens to include urine, blood, sputum, feces and other biological fluids.
-Receives written (LIS) or Laboratory requests for routine or STAT orders.
-Performs chemical, serological, hematological and microscopic tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
-Performs transfusion testing, including ABO/RH types and cross-match to ascertain compatibility.
-Performs blood gas testing.
-Perform Calibration and QC on all lab equipment as needed.
-Perform equipment maintenance on lab equipment such as chemistry, hematology, and coagulation analyzers.
-Reports any special circumstances or critical to the provider and blood bank to the pathologist.
-Processes and report test (CLIA waived, moderate and high complexity) result in a timely manner.
-Performs clerical functions as needed and any designated functions assigned by the Lab Manager.

Grant Writer


Full-Time Position

Department: Administration

Description: Under the direction of the Controller, the Grant Writer will scan environment to identify potential and write proposals, prepare supporting documentation and reports to meet grant guidelines, and coordinate and lead all activities of a grant application. Funders include private, federal, state, and corporate partners. The Grant Writer will engage both internal and external resources throughout the pre-award and development process, while adhering to the vision and mission of Sheridan Community Hospital.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Manages grant proposal development, compliance monitoring, and reporting process
-Researches potential funding sources on an ongoing basis to meet funding priorities and evaluates viability of funding announcements
-Establishes and manages a comprehensive process for timely and accurate grant evaluation, quality compliance, project and program fulfillment, and reporting to funders
-Develop strong partnerships with funding agencies at state, and national level
-Works with physicians, health system leadership, staff, and community members to identify program needs and facilitate the development of innovative, comprehensive, and potentially grant-fundable programs that meet the mission of the organization
-Utilizes the subject matter expertise of colleagues to write and organize strong grant proposals which accurately articulate the need, goals and objectives, methodology, future funding, and evaluation of each program.
-Communicates effectively, and on an on-going basis, with potential grant sources including; foundations, corporations, government funding agencies and individuals
-Must be able to travel
-Performs other duties as assigned


Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree.
-Experience with securing support from Federal and State Agencies
-Related grant writing experience in a rural health care environment preferred
-Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, and proofreading.
-Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint
and Excel)
-Ability to find creative solutions and make good decisions based on experience and analysis.
-Candidate must be self-driven, flexible, and goal-oriented
-Astute listener with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse groups of professionals
