Department: Specialty Clinic/Community Outreach

Special Training: Masters Degree, Bachelors Degree or equivalent in athletic training, Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program, Athletic Training License in State of Michigan, Certified Athletic Trainer (National Athletic Trainers Association)

Description: -Primarily assist within Orthopedic Practice and provide direct athletic training care for the Montcalm County School Districts athletes
-Attend practices, scrimmages and games as needed by the County School Districts
-Excellent communication with other health care professionals, athletic director, parents, athletes and patients of treatment plans
-Ability to document all reported injuries within the appropriate records and ability to use EMR Cerner
-Obtain and document health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, health risk factors
-Performs physical exam of the patient to estimate severity of illness and/or injury including learning about chief complaint then case presentation to physician with pertinent, objective information determined during history and exam
-General Athletic Trainer duties
-Other duties may be assigned as needed by supervisor

Patient Access Specialist


Part-Time Position

Department: Patient Access

Description: Requirements: Will work holidays, weekends and occasionally all shift when needed. The candidate must be flexible to work the majority of the time alone. Answering the switchboard and registering patients. This position requires an individual that is organized, can prioritize and dedicated. Great customer service is a MUST for this position. Must have also completed at least one computer skills program and be proficient or have worked with computers for a minimum of two years. This candidate will be trained on all shifts and in two locations of the hospital where patient access is located. Must have full understanding of HIPAA.

Other: Must be flexible, dependable, good computer skills, and great communication skills. The candidate must have the ability to adapt to all three shifts as needed and available to work where needed. BCLS Training is also preferred but not a requirement. Experience with the EMR system Cerner is preferred but not required.

Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician


Part-Time Position

Description: -Confident and proficient enough to work alone.
-Good phlebotomy skills.
-Use techniques specified in procedure manuals for analysis of patient specimens to include urine, blood, sputum, feces and other biological fluids. (No Microbiology performed at this lab)
-Receives written (LIS) or Laboratory requests for routine or STAT orders.
-Performs chemical, serological, hematological and microscopic tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
-Performs transfusion testing, including ABO/RH types and cross-match to ascertain compatibility.
-Performs blood gas testing.
-Perform Calibration and QC on all lab equipment as needed.
-Reports any special circumstances or critical to the provider and blood bank to the pathologist.
-Processes and report test (CLIA waived, moderate and high complexity) result in a timely manner.
-Performs clerical functions as needed and any designated functions assigned by the Lab Manager.
-The position is for day shift hours mostly, but applicant must be flexible to help cover other shifts as needed.

Job Summary: With limited supervision and broad general direction, provides for quality improvement initiatives across the entire hospital spectrum.  Establishes the annual quality plan based on inputs from every department and ensures their timely reporting of data/metrics.  Conducts monthly quality meetings, prepares meeting minutes, and distributes them to the appropriate departments.  Conducts reviews of department practices and facilities change practices directed toward meaningful process improvements.  Responsible for liaising with Michigan Hospital Association (MHA) for quality programs/initiatives.  Conducts training of hospital personnel in quality practices and the use of the Plan/Do/Check/Act model.  Facilitates a “shared goal model” within and across settings to achieve coordinated high-quality care that is patient and family-centered.  Perform additional duties as directed, including employee-health program.

-Passes instruments, needed supplies to surgeon during procedure
-Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure
-Prepares sterile dressings
-Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
-Assists in autoclaving and wrapping instruments after sterilization
-Assists other members of the surgical team with terminal cleaning of OR suite between cases and at end of day.  
-Assists in prepping room for the next surgical case
