Medical Laboratory Technician or Technologist


Full-Time Position

Department: Laboratory

Hours: 3rd Shift, 76 hours a pay period, (7 days on, 7 days off schedule option)

Special Training: MLT, MT, CLS or equivalent certification

Description: -Confident and proficient enough to work alone.
-Good phlebotomy skills (will not have a phlebotomist on 3rd shift)
-Perform instrument maintenance, calibration, and quality control on all analyzers on each shift.
-Use techniques specified in procedure manuals for analysis of patient specimens to include urine, blood, sputum, feces and other biological fluids. (No Microbiology performed at this lab)
-Receives written (LIS) or Laboratory requests for routine or STAT orders.
-Performs chemical, serological, hematological and microscopic tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
-Performs transfusion testing, including ABO/RH types and cross-match to ascertain compatibility.
-Performs blood gas testing.
-Reports any special circumstances or critical results to the provider and blood bank to the pathologist.
-Processes and report test (CLIA waived, moderate and high complexity) result in a timely manner.
-Performs clerical functions as needed and any designated functions assigned by the Lab Manager.

Trauma Program Coordinator (RN)


Part-Time Position

Department: Nursing Services

Special Training: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Current License

Description: Facilitates and coordinates Trauma Operations Committee and Trauma PI plan under the direction of the Trauma Medical Director. Ensures the maintenance of the trauma registry and the input of data. Monitor and maintain compliance with statewide trauma system regulatory requirements. Plan and implement strategies for ongoing trauma program development and improvement. Participates in State of Michigan Regional Trauma Advisory Committee meetings. Works in collaborations with EMS, attending Med Control Authority meetings. Maintains and grows EMS relationships within our service area. Ensure that educational support for patients, family, health team members and the community is being provided. Monitors trauma activation and resuscitation activity to optimize clinical outcomes. Ensures transfer agreements are in place per state requirements. Assists in education and orientation of emergency department staff. Plan, coordinate and evaluate trauma-related educational programs for the nursing staff. Collaborate with the Trauma Medical Director to provide clinical and system oversight for the care of trauma patients, ensuring the provision of efficient, quality, cost effective care. Ensures that injury prevention education is being exercised within the facility and offered to the community.

Description: Taking orders, preparing food & delivering trays in a timely manner. Ensuring patient are given the correct food allowed on diets. Taking temperatures on food and cooling units required.
