Medical/Surgical Unit


The Medical/Surgical unit provides nursing care, as well as, focused attention on relationship-based care. Not only do we have the ability to help our patients heal, but we can ensure that their experience in the hospital can be a highly positive one.

This 22-bed nursing unit provides homelike, personal care for the members of our community in need of inpatient services. Our staff of registered nurses and nursing assistants work in partnership with physicians and multiple other departments to provide for a complete continuum of patient care.

 

MED/SURG UNIT

Inpatient Care

Our unit has the following:

  • Hands on engaged nursing team
  • Computerized documentation
  • Private patient rooms
  • Hourly rounding
  • White boards
  • Rehabilitation Services
  • Utilization Review Management
  • Bedside shift reporting, allowing patients to engage and participate in their care
  • Ability to care for observation, inpatient and Swing Bed patients within the acute care setting
  • Nursing skills that involve assessment care plans, evaluation, and critical thinking

Inpatient services are provided to patients needing medical or surgical care, typically requiring a stay greater than 24-hours.

Observation services are provided to patients for a limited amount of time to determine the need for inpatient admission. The patient will receive periodic monitoring by the hospital’s nursing staff while in observation. Observation patients typically stay in the hospital less than 48 hours.
