Sheridan Community Hospital's Tree Lighting Ceremony, Holiday Open House & Santa

Updated: November 20, 2009

Article Picture Sheridan Community Hospital is having its Tree Lighting Ceremony along with a Holiday Open House on Thursday, December 3 starting at 6 pm.  The Open House will include an opportunity to meet & greet the “Man in Red”-Santa Claus.

From 6-7 pm, there will be activities for the children including ornament decorating, a coloring station, free kids' goodie bags, stuffed animal giveaways, and many conversations with Santa.  Parents are encouraged to bring their camera for that special shot.  Hot cocoa, coffee and cookies will be available for everyone to enjoy while students from the Central Montcalm High School band perform festive Christmas music.

The Tree Lighting Ceremony begins at 7 pm with songs from the Sheridan Congregational Church Choir followed by the reading of names of those individuals honored or memorialized through gift contributions to the hospital’s year-end Tree of Lights campaign.  The three trees, in the hospital’s front yard, will light up and will remain lit to honor friends and loved ones throughout this special time.

The Tree of Lights campaign is SCH’s major fund-raiser for the year.  The 2009 goal is to reach $40,000 by December 31.  The funds raised will be used for the purchase of new medical equipment, as needs arise, or to help with healthcare costs for at-risk children and families who cannot afford hospital services-but really need them.

Gifts may be made at any time during the Christmas season.  If you would like to contribute to SCH’s Tree of Lights campaign call Sharon Bowers, Community & Employee Relations Director, at 989-291-3269 ext 229 or send your check directly to SCH, Office of Development, PO Box 279, Sheridan, MI 48884.
